      Types of Data Recovery Services

Most data losses are as a result of computer crashes. The crashes can lead to loss of small files or in the case of a large company; it can result to a big loss of money.. Lost data is a problem for many companies, and at the worst, it can cause serious problems to the organization and the individuals responsible for its loss.

Today most of the data is stored digitally, and its loss can be a huge blow to the affected parties. However, there are numerous types of data recovery services which can be used to recover data.

This, however, depends on the type of the crash. Although it’s not possible to recover data every time, the success rates are usually very good. The following are some types of data recovery services.

      Hard drive recovery

Hard drives which have crashed or failed hold most of the secure data recovery services. The daily growth in technology has made hard drives to be capable of carrying more data than ever. This has made data recovery to become critical because users have become very concerned about losing their data.

Today, hard drives have the capacity to store Terabytes of data. This has also increased their ability to lose data. Almost everything that we do on our computers is stored on the hard drive in one way or another. However, most computer users don’t back their hard drives up, and this puts them at risk of losing the data stored in them.

      RAID recovery

This is the process of recovering and restoring data from Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) – infrastructure or storage architecture. In this service, a combination of automated and manual processes is used to extract and restore the data from one or more RAID components or drives. RAID recovery can be used both in hardware and software based components.

      Tape recovery

The tape is mostly used for backup and at times, as a type of progressive storage media. Using tape provides you with a large capacity for backup, which is usually a great thing for business. The recovery processes are very technical, and should only be done by professionals. Things can be worse in case someone without the relevant knowledge attempts the recovery by themselves.

Data recovery professionals utilize the technology and tools which have been designed specifically for tape recovery. The success rate in tape recovery is very high, and the experts can recover your data as long as you haven’t made things worse.

      Optical recovery

Optical media comprises of CDs and DVDs and is read and written by lasers. There are very few circumstances which lead to the failure of optical media. Scratches are the common things which destroy optical media. The media can also be damaged by scratches or touching it, and you leave dust particles and fingerprints.

You should not attempt to repair optical data by yourself if you lack the professional knowledge. Doing this can make the damaged data worse.

      Removable recovery

This comprises of removable storage media which includes external hard drives and flash drives amongst others. The storage devices hold smaller data than some of the other devices discussed earlier. Cases of these storage devices losing data are very few.

Data stored in these devices can be damaged because of either physical damage or human error. Viruses can also destroy the data. These issues can make the disk to reformat or make the data to be overwritten. Recovery for these situations requires being handled by skilled professionals.

      Digital recovery

Common types of digital media include things like cameras, portable storage devices and other types of flash media. Most of these devices have become very affordable and have assisted in meeting the demand for storage devices. This has also increased the demand for recovery of data lost from these devices.

Companies dealing with data recovery options have already developed recovery solutions for data lost in regards to digital data.
